ଘଟଣାର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟକ୍ଷଦର୍ଶୀ ସୁମିତ କହିଛନ୍ତି, "ଏହି ବିପର୍ଯ୍ୟୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଳାୟନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସମୟ ମଧ୍ୟ ଦେଇନଥିଲା। ଅନେକ ଲୋକ ନିଖୋଜ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ଏହି ଘଟଣାରେ ଅନେକ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ହୋଇଥାଇପାରେ ।ବନ୍ୟା ସର୍ବାଧିକ ୧୦ ସେକେଣ୍ଡ ପାଇଁ ରହିଥିଲା।

ଘଟଣାର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟକ୍ଷଦର୍ଶୀ ରୋଶନ କହିଛନ୍ତି, "ପରିସ୍ଥିତି ଭୟଙ୍କର ଓ ବିପଜ୍ଜନକ ଥିଲା। ଘଟଣାଟି ଦିନ ପ୍ରାୟ ୧:୩୦ ସମୟରେ ଘଟିଥିଲା। ଆମେ ହଠାତ୍ ବନ୍ୟାରେ ଅନେକ ଘର ଭାସିଯାଉଥିବା ଦେଖିଲୁ।

ଗତକାଲି ଅପରାହ୍ନରେ ପ୍ରଳୟଙ୍କରୀ ବିପର୍ଯ୍ୟୟ ଘଟିଥିଲା। ବାଦଲଫଟା ବର୍ଷାରେ ମାତ୍ର ୩୪ ସେକେଣ୍ଡରେ ସବୁ କିଛି ଛାରଖାର ହୋଇଗଲା। ପାଖାପାଖି ୨୦-୨୫ ହୋଟେଲ୍ ଏବଂ ହୋମ୍ ଷ୍ଟେ ଏହି ଅଚାନକ ବନ୍ୟାରେ ଭାସି ଯାଇଛି। ଅନେକ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରବଳ ବର୍ଷା ସତର୍କତା ଜାରି କରିଛି। ଏହା ସହିତ, ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ନଦୀ ଏବଂ ନାଳଠାରୁ ଉପଯୁକ୍ତ ଦୂରତା ବଜାୟ ରଖିବାକୁ ନିବେଦନ କରାଯାଇଛି।
