Residents of Shyamsundarpur Panchayat in Balasore district continue to struggle with severe connectivity and infrastructure challenges. A hill separates the village from the panchayat headquarters, stretching the distance to nearly 30 km, while the nearest police station is about 50 km away.

Basic facilities such as education, healthcare, transportation, and drinking water are reportedly in poor condition. The local MLA has also described it as one of the most problem-ridden panchayats in his constituency.
