There is growing confusion over the date of Diwali this year, with people uncertain whether the festival should be celebrated on the 20th or 21st of the month. The issue revolves around the proper timing for "Deepdan" (lighting of lamps) and "Paya Shraddha" (rituals for ancestors), with different Panchangs (Hindu almanacs) offering conflicting dates. According to five widely accepted almanacs, the 20th is marked for both the Shyama Puja and the rituals, while others have stated the 21st as the preferred date for these activities.
