Political activity has intensified in Odisha over the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, with discussions centring on how many candidates each party will field and who will contest the crucial fourth seat. While the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) had earlier secured six seats and the Indian National Congress bought three sets of nomination papers, speculation continues over who will file nomination for the fourth seat.

After a PAC meeting yesterday, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik convened a meeting of all party MLAs at Naveen Niwas today to discuss strategy. Meanwhile, Odisha PCC President Bhakta Charan Das has left for New Delhi to finalise the Congress strategy.
