Political suspense deepens in Odisha over who will file nomination for the fourth Rajya Sabha seat. While the BJD had secured six seats earlier and Congress three, discussions are now centred around the crucial fourth seat. The development has triggered intense political deliberations across parties.

After a recent PAC meeting, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik convened a meeting of all party MLAs at Naveen Niwas. Meanwhile, Odisha PCC President Bhakta Das has left for Delhi to finalise Congress strategy for the Rajya Sabha polls.

On the other hand, the BJP’s Parliamentary Board is expected to take the final call on its candidate. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, currently on a Delhi visit, is likely to meet the party’s National President, fuelling further speculation.
