Veteran actor Dharmendra, Bollywood's beloved He-Man, dies at 89

ବର୍ଷିୟାନ ବଲିଉଡ୍ ଅଭିନେତା ଧର୍ମେନ୍ଦ୍ରଙ୍କ ପରଲୋକ। ମୁମ୍ବାଇସ୍ଥିତ ବାସଭବନରେ ଚିକିତ୍ସାଧୀନ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ଦେହାନ୍ତ। ୮୯ବର୍ଷ ବୟସରେ ଧର୍ମେନ୍ଦ୍ରଙ୍କ ପରଲୋକ ହୋଇଛି । ୧୯୩୫ ଡିସେମ୍ବର ୮ରେ ପଞ୍ଜାବରେ ଜନ୍ମଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଥିଲେ ଧର୍ମେନ୍ଦ୍ର । ଦର୍ଶକଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟି ଦେଇଥିଲେ ଅନେକ ହିଟ୍ ଚଳଚ୍ଚିତ୍ର । ୧୯୬୦ରେ 'ଦିଲ୍ ଭି ତେରା ହମ୍ ଭି ତେରା' ଫିଲ୍ମରେ ଡେବ୍ୟୁ କରିଥିଲେ । ଫୁଲ୍ ଔର ପଥର, ସୋଲେ, ଚୁପେକେ ଚୁପକେ, ଅନୁପମା ଭଳି ସିନେମାରେ ଅଭିନୟ କରି ସ୍ବତନ୍ତ୍ର ପରିଚୟ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଥିଲେ । ୧୯୯୭ରେ ଫିଲ୍ମଫେୟାର ଲାଇଫ୍ ଟାଇମ ଆଚିଭମେଣ୍ଟ ସମ୍ମାନ ପାଇଥିଲେ ଧର୍ମେନ୍ଦ୍ର । ୨୦୧୨ରେ ପଦ୍ମଭୂଷଣ ସମ୍ମାନରେ ସମ୍ମାନିତ ହୋଇଥିଲେ । ୨୦୧୧ରେ ପାଇଥିଲେ ଦାଦା ସାହେବ ଫାଲକେ ସମ୍ମାନ ।

Bollywood veteran Dharmendra, aged 89, has passed away at his residence in Mumbai, where he was undergoing treatment. Born on 8 December 1935 in Punjab, Dharmendra made his debut in 1960 with the film “Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tera”.

Known widely as the film industry’s “He-Man”, Dharmendra delivered numerous hit films over his long career and was honoured with prestigious awards like the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement (1997) and the Padma Bhushan (2012). His passing marks the end of an era in Hindi cinema.
