Household kitchens are facing renewed pressure as the price of imported edible oil has risen by around ₹10 within a week following disruptions caused by ongoing conflict in Middle East countries. The increase comes soon after the rise in cooking gas prices, raising concerns among consumers about rising household expenses. Responding to the situation, the Traders’ Federation stated that although prices have increased due to import challenges, there is sufficient edible oil stock available in the state for about a month. The federation has urged consumers not to panic despite the price surge, while market watchers remain cautious about further impact if the international situation continues.
