A young man was stabbed to death on School Padi­a Road near GGP Colony under Mancheswar Police Station limits in Bhubaneswar, the Odisha capital, police and local sources report. The victim, identified as a local oxygen gas businessman, was fatally injured by a knife blow to the chest, and died at the scene, prompting an ongoing investigation by Mancheswar police into the motive and suspect(s).
“Preliminary inquiries suggest the deceased was attacked with a sharp weapon and sustained fatal injuries to his chest,” said a senior police official, confirming that the case has been registered and further forensic probes are underway.
Locals in the area around Mancheswar and GGP Colony were shocked by the violent incident, which has heightened concerns about street safety and rising crime in the capital city’s neighborhoods.
