The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Odisha on October 1 and 2, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall as a new low-pressure system intensifies over the Bay of Bengal. Districts including Koraput, Malkangiri, and Kalahandi are likely to receive extreme rain, with strong winds expected.
