Complaints have surfaced from Agalpur block in Balangir district that poor families are being denied rice and subsidy benefits under the Public Distribution System (PDS) because they have not completed house construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). Locals allege that beneficiaries whose homes aren’t fully built have had rice and other entitlements removed from their ration cards, leaving many without essential supplies for several months
