In a significant development in the Durgapur gang rape case, West Bengal Police conducted a crime scene reconstruction on October 14, 2025. The incident involves a second-year MBBS student from Odisha, who was allegedly gang-raped near a private medical college in Durgapur on October 10. The reconstruction took place at the crime spot—a wooded area adjacent to the Paranaganj Kali Bari cremation ground, located near the college gates. Five individuals have been arrested in connection with the crime. The police are also investigating the survivor's male classmate, who was with her at the time of the incident, as per conflicting complaints from the survivor and her father.
