The long-standing confusion over the date of Diwali celebration in Odisha has finally been resolved. The Mukti Pandit Mahasabha, the state’s apex body of temple priests and scholars, has clarified that both Payashraddha and Diwali will be observed on October 20, not October 21 as mentioned in some almanacs.
