In a major administrative reshuffle, the President of India has appointed nine new Governors and Lieutenant Governors across several states and Union Territories. Former diplomat Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been appointed the new Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, while R. N. Ravi will serve as the Governor of West Bengal. Shiv Pratap Shukla has been named Governor of Telangana, and Jishnu Dev Varma will take charge as Governor of Maharashtra.

Other key appointments include Nand Kishore Yadav as Governor of Nagaland and Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Syed Ata Hasnain as Governor of Bihar. Meanwhile, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will serve as Governor of Tamil Nadu, and Kavinder Gupta has been appointed Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
