ଆଜି ମା’ ଦୁର୍ଗାଙ୍କ ମହାନବମୀ ପୂଜା। ଏହି ଅବସରରେ ପରମ୍ପରା ରହିଛି ନବମାତୃକା ପୂଜା। ଆଜିର ଦିନରେ ନବ କନ୍ୟାକୁ ପୂଜା କରାଯାଇଥାଏ। କନ୍ୟାମାନଙ୍କର ପାଦ ଧୋଇ ଅଳତା ଲଗାଯାଏ। ଖାଲି ସେତିକି ନୁହେଁ, କୁଙ୍କୁମ ଚନ୍ଦନ ତିଲକ ଲଗାଇ ଶୃଙ୍ଗାର କରାଯାଏ। ବାଲେଶ୍ବର ମଣ୍ଡଳ ବଜାରରେ ନବମୀ ଅବସରରେ ନବକନ୍ୟା ପୂଜା ଚାଲିଛି।

On the auspicious day of Mahanavami during Dussehra, devotees celebrated Maa Durga’s festival by performing the traditional Navamatrika Puja. This age-old ritual involves worshipping the nine forms of the Goddess, where nine young girls (Navakanya) are honoured by washing their feet, applying alta, and adorning them with kumkum, chandan, and tilak. The festivities were prominently observed in Mandal Bazar, Balasore.
