Luxury Apartment Plan Surfaces in Rs 4.27 Crore Vigilance Bust

ଭିଜିଲାନ୍ସ ଜାଲରେ ପଡ଼ିଥିବା କଟକ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଖଣି ଉପନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶକ ଦେବବ୍ରତ ମହାନ୍ତି କୁଆଡୁ ଆଣିଲେ 4 କୋଟି 27 ଲକ୍ଷର ନଗଦ କ୍ୟାସ୍ । ଘରେ ଟଙ୍କାର ଖଣି କରିଥିବା ଏ ଖଣି ଅଧିକାରୀଙ୍କର ଆଗକୁ ଯୋଜନା କଣ ଥିଲା । କୁହାଯାଉଛି, ଦେବବ୍ରତ ରାଜଧାନୀରେ ଏକ ବିଳାସପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଆପାର୍ଟମେଣ୍ଟ କିଣିବାକୁ ଟଙ୍କା ରଖିଥିଲେ । ଏସବୁ ସାମନାକୁ ଆସିବା ପରେ ଅଧିକାରୀଙ୍କ ମନି ଟ୍ରେଲର ରହସ୍ୟ ଭେଦିବାକୁ ଆଗକୁ ତାଙ୍କୁ ରିମାଣ୍ଡରେ ନେଇ ଜେରାର ଯୋଜନା କରିଛି ଇଡି । ଆଉ ୟାରି ଭିତରେ ଖଣି ଓ ଖଣିଜ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ସୁରକ୍ଷାରେ ଥିବା ଏ ଅଫିସର କେମିତି, ସିଣ୍ଡିକେଟ୍ କରି ଟଙ୍କା କମାଉଥିଲେ, ତାର ବି ନକ୍ସା ଭିଜିଲାନ୍ସ ହାତରେ ଲାଗିଥିବା କୁହାଯାଉଛି ।

In a major Vigilance crackdown, Rs 4 crore 27 lakh in cash was recovered from the residence of Debabrata Mohanty, Deputy Director of Mines, Cuttack district. The huge cash seizure has raised serious questions about the source of funds and how the mining officer allegedly amassed such wealth.

Sources indicate that Mohanty had reportedly kept the money to purchase a luxury apartment in the capital city. Following these revelations, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is planning to take him on remand for further interrogation to trace the money trail.

Amid the ongoing investigation, it is also being reported that Vigilance officials have obtained details suggesting how the officer, who was entrusted with safeguarding mines and minerals, allegedly operated a syndicate to earn illegal money. Further probe is underway.
