ଓଡ଼ିଶା ନଦୀଗର୍ଭରୁ ଆନ୍ଧ୍ରକୁ ବାଲି ଚୋରା ଚାଲାଣ। ରାୟଗଡ଼ା ନାଗାବଳୀ ନଦୀ ଗର୍ଭରୁ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ଲୁଟ୍ ହେଉଛି ଟନ୍ ଟନ୍ ବାଲି। ଖବର ଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଖଣି ବିଭାଗ ଚୁପ ବସିଥିବା ଅଭିଯୋଗ। ଏଥିପାଇଁ ସରକାର କୋଟି କୋଟି ଟଙ୍କାର ରାଜସ୍ବ ହରାଉଛନ୍ତି। ଖାଲି ଏତିକି ନୁହେଁ, ନଦୀର ଗତିପଥ ବଦଳି କୃତ୍ରିମ ବନ୍ୟା ସୃଷ୍ଟି ହେଉଛି। ଏପଟେ ଜିଲ୍ଲାପାଳ କହିଛନ୍ତି, ବାଲି ମାପିଆଙ୍କ କାରବାର ଉପରେ ରୋକ ଲଗାଇବା ଲାଗି ଏନଫୋର୍ସମେଣ୍ଟ କରାଯାଉଛି।

Allegations of large-scale illegal sand smuggling have surfaced from the riverbed of the Nagavali River in Rayagada district, with sand reportedly being transported to Andhra Pradesh on a daily basis. Despite information about the activity, the Mining Department is accused of remaining silent, resulting in crores of rupees in revenue loss to Odisha. The unchecked extraction is also said to be altering the river’s course and creating artificial flood-like situations. Meanwhile, the District Collector has stated that enforcement measures are being carried out to curb the activities of the sand mafia.
