A dismembered body of a youth was found lying on the road near Sorada Chhak under Nuagaon police station limits on the Khordha–Balangir National Highway in Nayagarh district. The incident came to light when locals noticed body parts scattered on the road. The exact time of the incident is not known.

According to local residents, the accident may have occurred due to dense fog. An unknown vehicle is suspected to have hit the youth and fled after running over him, resulting in the body being left in a mutilated condition on the road.
