A new cyclone has formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal, close to the Sri Lanka coast, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The system is likely to move towards north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and south Andhra Pradesh in the coming hours. Officials have stated that there is no assessment yet regarding any potential impact on Odisha.
