From the sacred pilgrimage city of Puri in Odisha, an immense devotional scene unfolded at Belabhumi as thousands of devotees, sadhus and pilgrims walked into the Mahodadhi Teerth — the sacred coastal waters of the Bay of Bengal — to take part in the Govinda Dwadashi Snan, a ritual holy bath observed on the auspicious Govinda Dwadashi, celebrated on the twelfth day (Dwadashi) of the bright half of the Phalguna lunar month, where faithful worshippers gather to perform ceremonial bathing, offer prayers and seek divine blessings on this spiritually significant festival day.
