On the last day of filing nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections, Santrupt Misra submitted his nomination as the candidate of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD). Misra filed three sets of nomination papers before the Returning Officer as part of the official process.

During the filing of the nomination, members from both the BJD and the Indian National Congress were present. Notably, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik and PCC president Bhakta Das were seen sitting together at the venue, drawing political attention.

The development comes amid the ongoing process for the Rajya Sabha elections, with political parties finalising their candidates and completing nomination formalities on the last day of submission.
