A woman from Talcher, Odisha, was cheated of ₹2.5 lakh by a cyber gang after being promised a distributorship deal for a local face wash and shampoo brand. The fraudsters convinced her to transfer money as a “registration and security fee.” After realizing she had been duped, the victim approached Angul police for help. Acting promptly, police tracked the money trail and arrested two accused involved in the cyber fraud. Further investigation is underway to trace the other members of the gang.
