On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, devotees witnessed the divine Panchamrit Mahasnan (holy bath) of Baba Mahakal at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. In this sacred ritual, the deity was bathed with panchamrit — a traditional mixture of milk, curd, ghee, sugar and honey — symbolising purification and spiritual renewal, as part of the early morning observances that marked the festival atmosphere at the historic Jyotirlinga shrine.
