The much-anticipated Konark Festival 2025 and the International Sand Art Festival began today at Chandrabhaga Beach near the historic Konark Sun Temple. As part of the launch celebrations, local students and youth participated in a 3-kilometre community run promoting a “Healthy, Clean, Green, Plastic-Free Konark.”

Over 100 young participants trod the route from heritage-site to shoreline, blending culture, tourism and civic-spirit. Festival organisers expressed hope that the event will boost Odisha’s tourism and shine a spotlight on coastal heritage with environmental consciousness.

With classical dance, world-class sand art, beach ambience and now a community run, Konark 2025 promises to be a unique fusion of art, culture, tourism — and sustainable living.
