A youth was allegedly shot during a dispute over a love relationship in Chandragiri Dhepasahi village under Mohana police station limits in Gajapati district. The incident occurred when a village meeting was convened to resolve a long-standing dispute related to the relationship.

According to the information, the accused, identified as Santosh Pradhan, allegedly opened fire with a pistol during the meeting. The bullet hit Anil Kumar Karad, the relative brother of the girl involved, injuring his right leg. He was initially admitted to Chandragiri Medical and later shifted to Berhampur Medical College and Hospital as his condition turned critical.
