A woman was seriously injured after an alleged life-threatening attack by her husband and in-laws in Odisha’s Malkangiri district. The victim accused her father-in-law of trying to maintain an improper relationship with her, while stating that her husband tortured her after the birth of a girl child and her mother-in-law harassed her for not bringing dowry.

The woman sustained injuries in the alleged murderous assault and was admitted to Malkangiri Sadar Hospital for treatment. A case has been registered at Kalimela Police Station based on her complaint.

Police arrested the husband in connection with the incident and produced him before the court. Further legal action is underway as per procedure.
