In a tragic incident, a migrant labourer from Ganjam district who had gone to Tamil Nadu to earn a livelihood returned home as a body. Arakhyit Nayak, a youth from Nuagaon village under Sankhemundi block, died after coming in contact with an electric wire while working as a labourer in a company at Tripurakangi.

The incident has once again highlighted the pain of “Dadan” migrant labour, where workers leave home for survival but face fatal risks. Arakhyit Nayak was the only earning member of his family, leaving them devastated and uncertain about their future.
