The Vigilance Department has arrested two engineers of the Udala Lift Irrigation Division while they were allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹60,000 from a contractor. The accused officials have been identified as Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Harekrushna Singh and Junior Engineer (JE) Subrat Mahanti.

According to the source information, the engineers were demanding and taking the bribe in exchange for clearing a pending bill worth ₹42 lakh. Vigilance officials caught both engineers red-handed during the transaction, leading to their immediate arrest.
