A detailed discussion on ‘Vande Mataram’ took place in the Lok Sabha, during which the Prime Minister addressed the House. He said Vande Mataram was a powerful source of inspiration during India’s freedom movement and described the debate as one that would educate future generations.

The Prime Minister stated that the discussion reflects the commitment of the House and highlighted the emotional leadership embedded in Vande Mataram. He recalled that the song had completed 100 years during the Emergency, a period when democracy was under threat.

Tracing its journey from 1875 to 2025, the Prime Minister said Vande Mataram has now completed 150 years. He added that the nation is witnessing a historic moment and expressed pride in being part of it.
