A tragic road accident occurred in Pipili near Mangalpur Chhak, where a bus ran over a scooter, killing two people, including a woman journalist. The incident took place when a scooter was hit by a bus, leading to the death of journalist Sheela Pattnaik on the spot.

Another woman was critically injured in the accident and was rushed to hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries during treatment. The identity of the second deceased woman has not yet been confirmed.

According to local residents, sand lying on the road caused the scooter to slip, following which both riders came under the moving bus, resulting in the fatal accident. Police reached the spot soon after the incident and are carrying out an investigation.
