In a major development in Odisha’s anti-Maoist operations, top Maoist leader Nikhil alias Niranjan Raut surrendered before Rayagada Police along with his wife Indu. The surrender took place in the presence of OTV and senior police officials. A total reward of ₹1 crore 30 lakh was announced on Nikhil’s head. Altogether, 15 Maoists laid down arms before Rayagada Police, marking a significant success for security forces in southern Odisha.
