Three-Day Dolphin Census Begins at Chilika from Tomorrow

ଆସନ୍ତାକାଲିଠୁ ଚିଲିକାରେ ଡଲଫିନ୍ ଗଣନା। ତିନି ଦିନ ଧରି ଚାଲିବ ଗଣନା କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ। ଚିଲିକାର ୧୮ଟି ରୁଟରେ ବାଲୁଗାଁ ଓ ସାତପଡ଼ାରେ ଗଣନା କରାଯିବ। ଗଣନା ପାଇଁ ମୋଟ ୧୮ଟି ଟିମ ଗଠନ କରାଯାଇଛି। ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଟିମରେ ଜଣେ ଲେଖାଏଁ ବିଶେଷଜ୍ଞଙ୍କ ସହ ୩ରୁ ୫ ଜଣ ଗଣନାକାରୀ ରହିବେ। ସକାଳ ୬ଟାରୁ ଗଣନା ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇ ୧୨ଟା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଚାଲିବ। ଗଣନା କାର୍ଯ୍ୟରେ ବାଧା ସୃଷ୍ଟି ନହେବା ପାଇଁ ଚିଲିକାରେ ସକାଳ ୬ଟାରୁ ୧୨ଟା ଯାଏଁ ବୋଟ୍ ଚଳାଚଳ ନକରିବାକୁ ୱାଇଲ୍ଡ ଲାଇଫ୍ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ସମସ୍ତ ମୋଟର ବୋଟ ଆସୋସିଏସନକୁ ଅବଗତ କରାଯାଇଛି।

The dolphin census at Chilika Lake will begin from tomorrow and will continue for three days. The counting exercise will be conducted across 18 designated routes covering Balugaon and Satapada areas.

A total of 18 teams have been formed for the census. Each team will include one expert along with three to five trained enumerators. The counting will be carried out daily from 6 am to 12 noon.

To ensure that the census work is not disrupted, the Wildlife authorities have instructed all Motor Boat Associations to suspend boat operations in Chilika Lake between 6 am and 12 noon during the census period.
