SUNDARGARH, Odisha — A violent group clash erupted on Thursday in Sundargarh town’s Regent Market area, prompting the district administration to impose prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNS Act. Following the violence — which involved stone-pelting and sharp weapons — internet services were suspended for 24 hours from 6 pm as a precautionary measure, and all schools and colleges were ordered closed on January 16 to ensure public safety.
