A student from Shailabala Women’s Autonomous College in Cuttack expressed anger after a scheduled meeting with the district collector — set for 10 AM today — was postponed with instructions to discuss at the office instead, saying her group will not go to Kuakhai and insists the collector should visit the campus for the talks and that, if needed, discussions will even happen on the road, as they prepare for a strong fight for university status; this protest forms part of a wider agitation by students demanding upgraded recognition for the historic college, which has been staging continuous demonstrations including sit‑ins and discussions with officials about their demand.
