State Govt Starts Paddy Procurement in 19 Districts; Millers’ Demands Partly Accepted

The Odisha government has announced that paddy procurement has begun smoothly, ending earlier uncertainty in mandis. Procurement has started in 19 districts, with farmers now able to sell their harvested paddy at designated procurement centres (mandis), the Food Supplies Minister said. The government has also issued official orders after accepting some of the demands put forward by local millers to streamline the process.
