The Surat Crime Branch has arrested Abid Ali, a notorious organised crime figure who allegedly operated a vast criminal network across 12 to 14 states in India. Abid Ali, known by multiple aliases including Raju, Abbas Ali and Rahman Daku, was apprehended following a specific intelligence input that he had entered Surat after fleeing a police combing operation in Bhopal’s Irani Dera area. The arrest was carried out by Inspector J.N. Goswami and his team without any exchange of fire.
