The demand for restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) has once again put the Karnataka government under pressure, as government employees across departments intensify their agitation. During the 2023 Assembly elections, the Congress-led government had promised to reintroduce OPS, but even after nearly two and a half years in office, the scheme has not been implemented. Frustrated by the delay, employees have now launched a “Kar ba Mar” (do-or-die) movement and warned of a complete work stoppage if OPS is not restored within one month.
