Cold conditions have returned to Odisha with a sharp dip in temperature as strong cold and dry winds from the northwest and north sweep across the state. The renewed cold wave has led to bone-chilling conditions being felt in many areas.

Southern Odisha is facing added trouble due to dense fog along with the cold. In Kandhamal district, thick fog has reduced visibility to just a few metres, making roads barely visible, especially during early hours.

The impact of the cold is more severe in hilly regions, where residents are experiencing harsher weather conditions due to a combination of low temperatures and persistent fog.
