Senior MLA RAJA SWAIN slams govt for “nationalising” gambling with new law

ଜୁଆ ଖେଳକୁ ନେଇ ନୂଆ ଆଇନ ଆଣିଛନ୍ତି ସରକାର। ଯାହାକୁ ନେଇ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ବର୍ଷିଛନ୍ତି ବରିଷ୍ଠ ବିଜେଡି ବିଧାୟକ ରଣେନ୍ଦ୍ର ପ୍ରତାପ ସ୍ବାଇଁ। ସରକାର ଜୁଆ ଖେଳକୁ ଜାତୀୟକରଣ କରିଦେଲେ। ଜରମାନା ଦେଇ ଜୁଆ ଖେଳିବାକୁ ସରକାର ପ୍ରୋତ୍ସାହିତ କରୁଥିବା ରାଜା ସ୍ବାଇଁ କହିଛନ୍ତି।

Senior BJD MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain has strongly criticised the government after a new law on gambling was passed, saying that by legalising “jua” (gambling) the government has effectively nationalised it. Swain argues that instead of discouraging gambling, the new law — with fines and licences — encourages people to gamble.
