SC Clears Odisha, Jharkhand Judges for Bengal SIR Case Hearing

ପଶ୍ଚିମବଂଗରେ SIRକୁ ନେଇ ଥିବା ମାମଲାର ସମାଧାନ ପାଇଁ ବାହାର ରାଜ୍ୟରୁ ଯିବେ ବିଚାରପତି। ଓଡ଼ିଶା ଓ ଝାଡ଼ଖଣ୍ଡରୁ ପଶ୍ଚିମବଂଗକୁ ଯିବେ ବିଚାରପତି । ପଶ୍ଚିମବଂଗରେ SIR ବିବାଦ ନେଇ ୮୦ ଲକ୍ଷ ଆବେଦନ ରହିଛି । ଏହି ସବୁ ଅଭିଯୋଗର ପରିଚାଳନା ପାଇଁ ଓଡ଼ିଶା, ଝାଡ଼ଖଣ୍ଡର ବିଚାରପତିଙ୍କୁ ନିୟୋଜିତ କରାଯିବ । ପଡ଼ୋଶୀ ରାଜ୍ୟରୁ ନ୍ୟାୟିକ ଅଧିକାରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିୟୋଜିତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଖର୍ଚ୍ଚ ବହନ କରିବାକୁ ନିର୍ବାଚନ କମିଶନଙ୍କୁ ସୁପ୍ରିମକୋର୍ଟ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ।

The Supreme Court has allowed the appointment of Civil Judges from Odisha and Jharkhand to West Bengal to handle cases related to the SIR controversy. Around 80 lakh claims and objections have been filed in connection with the dispute. The court directed the Election Commission to bear the expenses of deploying judicial officers from neighbouring states.

Currently, about 250 District Judges are engaged in SIR-related work in West Bengal, and it may take nearly 80 days to process all applications. The Supreme Court requested the Chief Justices of the Jharkhand High Court and Odisha High Court to consider the Calcutta High Court’s request urgently and sympathetically.
