The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a press note for biennial Rajya Sabha elections to fill 37 vacant seats from 10 states, including 4 from Odisha. Notification to be issued on February 26; nomination filing closes March 5 (scrutiny on March 6); withdrawal deadline March 9. Polling from 9 AM to 4 PM on March 16, with counting at 5 PM the same day. This biennial cycle addresses seats retiring in April 2026.
