In Puri, Odisha, local lawyers are set to block the National Highway today in protest against the proposed relocation of the Puri District Court near the Balukhand Forest Area, according to the original Odia report. The legal fraternity opposes the move to shift court facilities away from the city.

The lawyers will gather at the Malatipatpur stretch of the National Highway from 9 AM to 3 PM to stage a road blockade and demonstration, highlighting their objections to the relocation process.

Protests by lawyers against shifting the Puri court have been ongoing for months, with members stating that institutional access and connectivity will be adversely affected if the court is moved far from town.
