Pan masala will not be banned in the state, the Health and Family Welfare Department has clarified through an official letter. The clarification has been issued by the Health Secretary and addressed to the CT & GST Department and the Finance Department.
In the letter, it has been clearly stated that pan masala does not contain tobacco or nicotine, and therefore, there is no proposal to impose a ban on the product.
