Paddy Procurement Stalled in Western Odisha Mandis Despite Minister’s Claim

ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ଧାନକିଣା ସ୍ବାଭାବିକ ହୋଇଥିବା ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ସୂଚନା ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି । ହେଲେ ପଶ୍ଚିମ ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ଅନେକ ମଣ୍ଡିରେ ଲାଗିରହିଛି ଅଚଳାବସ୍ଥା । ବରଗଡ଼, ସମ୍ବଲପୁର ଓ ବଲାଙ୍ଗିର ଜିଲ୍ଲାର ମଣ୍ଡିମାନଙ୍କରୁ ଉଠୁନି ଧାନ । ଗତ ଦୁଇ ସପ୍ତାହ ହେଲା ଧାନ ମଣ୍ଡିରେ ପଡ଼ିରହିଛି । ହଜାର ହଜାର ବସ୍ତା ଧାନ ଗଦା ହୋଇ ରହିଛି । ଟାର୍ଗେଟ୍ ଧାନକିଣା ଏଯାଏଁ ପୂରଣ ହେଇପାରିନି । ଧାନ ଉଠିବାରେ ବହୁ ବିଳମ୍ବ ହେଉଥିବାରୁ ଟୋକନ୍ ଲାପ୍ସ ହେବା ଆଶଙ୍କା କରାଯାଉଛି । ଫଳରେ ଚାଷୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅସନ୍ତୋଷ ଦେଖାଦେଇଛି । ସେପଟେ ମିଲର୍ସ ଆସୋସିଏନ କହିଛି ଏ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆମକୁ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରୁ କୌଣସି ଚିଠି ମିଳିନି । ଚିଠି ପାଇଲେ ଧାନ ଉଠିବ । ଏ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ କୌଣସି ଜାଗାରୁ ଧାନ ଉଠି ନାହିଁ।

The state minister has stated that paddy procurement is running smoothly across Odisha. However, a stalemate continues in several mandis of Western Odisha, raising serious concerns among farmers.

Paddy lifting has come to a halt in mandis of Bargarh, Sambalpur and Balangir districts, where harvested paddy has been lying for the last two weeks. Thousands of gunny bags of paddy remain piled up, and the procurement target has not yet been achieved. Due to the prolonged delay, there is fear of token lapse, leading to growing dissatisfaction among farmers.
