The Odisha Medical Services Association (OMSA) — representing government doctors in Odisha — has increased its protest action by extending the Outpatient Department (OPD) shutdown to two hours daily across government hospitals from today, keeping OPDs closed from 9 am to 11 am. This escalation comes as the state government has not yet acted on long-standing demands raised by the doctors, including filling vacant posts and improving working conditions. During the protest hours, routine consultations are not held, though emergency services remain operational.
