Government officials have emerged as a major hurdle in the construction of new mobile towers, particularly in urban areas. Telecom companies have alleged that instead of cooperating, officials are seizing materials and initiating action citing lack of NOC.

In this regard, the Information Technology Department has written to District Collectors and Municipal Officers, stating that NOCs must be issued within the prescribed timeline through the TIFMS portal. The letter clearly mentions that officials are wrongly forcing companies to apply for offline NOCs, which violates existing instructions.
