Four distinguished individuals from Odisha have been selected for this year's Padma Awards in recognition of their exceptional contributions. They include Santali writer Charana Hembram from Mayurbhanj, tribal folk culture conservationist Mahendra Kumar Mishra, Digapahandi folk dance exponent Seemantala Patra from Ganjam, and Bandhakala (tie-dye art) craftsman Sarat Kumar Patra. The honours celebrate Odisha's rich cultural and artistic heritage at the national level.
