A forester named Bhagabat Bhushan Behera, serving in the Bhatangpadar Section of Bhawanipatna Forest Range in Kalahandi North Forest Division, has been apprehended by the Odisha Vigilance Directorate on charges related to possession of undisclosed (income-outside-account) property. The vigilance’s independent team launched a coordinated operation early in the morning, raiding Behera’s ancestral house in Deoundi village, his three-room residence in Bhawanipatna, and his forest office at Bhatangpadar, in connection with the allegations. The raid involved senior vigilance officers including 4 DSPs, 7 Inspectors and 4 ASIs.

This action is part of the Vigilance Department’s anti-corruption efforts targeting officials accused of disproportionate assets and related offences in government service.
