The 33rd National Junior Fencing Championship kicked off today in Cuttack, marking a significant moment for the sport in Odisha. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, who assured that all necessary infrastructure and facilities would be provided to promote fencing in the state.

Addressing the gathering, the minister said that the spirit of swordsmanship runs in the blood of Odias, highlighting Odisha’s potential to excel in fencing at the national level. Athletes from across the country are participating in the championship, making Cuttack a hub of national sporting action.

The event is expected to boost interest among young athletes and strengthen Odisha’s presence in fencing on the national stage.
