Odisha to Launch Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls from April 1 – CEO Santagopalan Reveals Details to OTV

Odisha's Chief Electoral Officer R. Santagopalan announced that a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list will begin on April 1, 2026 – the first major such exercise in the state after 24 years (last SIR in 2002). Mapping work is currently underway, with verification against the 2002 SIR list to ensure a clean electoral roll by removing duplicates, deceased voters, and ineligible names while adding qualified ones. In an exclusive interview with OTV, the CEO explained the multi-stage process aimed at making the rolls fully accurate and transparent ahead of future elections.
