Odisha, India remains gripped by a severe cold wave, with dropping temperatures and widespread chill affecting daily life across the state. Parts of northern Odisha (Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj), western and interior regions (Sundargarh), and southern districts (Koraput, Nabarangpur) are recording unusually low mercury levels as the cold wave continues. In Jharsuguda, the minimum temperature early this morning was recorded at 8.8 °C around 5:30 am, highlighting how deep the chill has become. Meteorological forecasts indicate that the cold conditions may persist until December 17 as dry, cool air masses stabilise over the region
